FROM THE GUEST BOOK
"The perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring"

COTTAGE AND COAST
A welcoming base for discovering our favourite local cafés, pubs & restaurants.
Clementine Cottage is a welcoming base nestled above the coast in Holcombe, South Devon. From here, the region opens up in every direction with independent cafés, pubs full of character, and restaurants that make the most of the sea and surrounding farmland. It’s a quiet place to return to after a day spent sampling the best of the local food scene.
Within a short drive, you’ll find fresh seafood in Shaldon, riverside dining in Teignmouth, and laid-back cafés in Dawlish serving locally roasted coffee and homemade cakes. Further afield, Dartmouth offers harbourfront restaurants and rustic bistros tucked into narrow streets. Dartmoor brings another flavour entirely, with the 360 Café in Bovey Tracey looking out over open skies and wild hills. Exeter adds variety, from tucked-away bakeries to modern dining in the heart of the city.
This part of Devon is known as much for its food as for its landscape. Menus are guided by what’s caught, grown, or baked that week. Pubs are places to linger, cafés are small but thoughtful, and meals are often shared outdoors, with salt in the air and no rush to be anywhere else. Clementine Cottage places you at the centre of it all.
